Esta banda fue fundada en Estocolmo (Suecia) en el año 2000.
Deathstars tocan Metal Industrial.
Los miembros provienen de bandas de Black Metal,y como este tipo de grupos,también usan maquillaje. Además suelen vestir de forma militar,mezclado con cuero.
La formación actual es: Andreas Bergh (voces),Emil Nödtveit (guitarras y teclados),Jonas Kangur (bajo) y Oscar Leander (bateria).
Son famosos por sus extensas giras mundiales.
En 2014,acaban de sacar su cuarto disco de estudio.
