SCORPIONS

No hace falta presentar a este mito del Hard Rock/Heavy Metal Alemán.
Nacieron en Hannover (Alemania) en 1965,siendo el primer grupo del estilo en tierras Germanas.
Se estima que han tocado más de 5000 conciertos hasta el momento,en más de 80 paises diferentes.
Han vendido más de 150 millones de discos en toda su carrera.
Hasta la fecha han grabado 18 álbums de estudio,6 discos en directo,y han editado 40 recopilaciones.

Empezaron con el nombre de Nameless,después The Scorpions,y ya en 1969 Scorpions.
En 1970 decidieron comenzar a componer en Inglés. En 1979 realizaron 'Lovedrive',el cual les dió fama y llegaron a Estados Unidos.
A finales de 1981,durante la grabación del álbum 'Blackout',Klaus Meine tuvo problemas con sus cuerdas vocales. Después de dos operaciones y reentrenar la voz,a los pocos meses consiguió acabar la grabación.
Los '80 fueron los años del gran despegue de Scorpions.
En 1991,Mikhail Gorbachov (entonces presidente de la Unión Sovietica) les invitó a tocar la canción 'Wind Of Change' en la plaza del Kremlin (Moscú),siendo un suceso historico en el mundo del rock y de la ex-Unión Sovietica.
En 1992 recibieron el premio ASCAP con la canción 'Wind Of Change',por ser el tema más reproducido en el mundo en 1991.
En 1995 tocaron en Beirut (Libano),siendo la primera banda internacional en pisar este pais.
En 2010 anunciaron que grabarían su último álbum y harían una extensa gira,para retirarse en 2013. Aunque esto no ha sucedido,y siguen en activo.
Sus conciertos con más público han sido: un pequeño show de tres canciones para recibir el año 2012 en Berlín (Alemania) donde habían más de 1.500.000 personas,un show en Cracovia (Polonia) en el año 2000,donde se estima había 750.000 personas,el primer festival Rock In Rio (Brasil,1985) con 350.000 personas,US Festival (Estados Unidos,1983) con 325.000 personas o Moscow Peace Festival (Unión Sovietica,1989) con 260.000 personas.

They were born in Hannover (Germany) in 1965,being the first group of the style in German lands.
It is estimated that they have played more than 5000 live shows so far,in more than 80 different countries.
They have sold more than 150 million records throughout their career.
To date they have recorded 18 studio albums,6 live albums,and they have released 40 compilations.

They started with the name of Nameless,after The Scorpions and already in 1969 Scorpions.
In 1970 they decided to star composing in English. In 1979 they released 'Lovedrive',which give them fame and they came to United States.
At the end of 1981,during the recording of the album 'Blackout',Klaus Meine had problem with his vocal chords. After two surgeries and retrain his voice,he managed to finish recording.
The '80s were the years of the great take-off of Scorpions.
In 1991,Mikhail Gorbachov (then was the president of Soviet Union) invited them to play the song 'Wind Of Change' in the Kremlin plaza (Moscow),being an historic event in the world of Rock and the ex-Soviet Union.
In 1992 they received the ASCAP award with the song 'Wind Of Change',to be the most reproduced song in the world in 1991.
In 1995 they played a show in Beirut (Lebanon),being the first international band to play in the country.
In 2010 they announced that they recorded their latest album and would make an extensive tour,to retire in 2013. Although this has not happen,and they are still active.
