En el año 1980 se formaron en Orange County,California (Estados Unidos) con el nombre de Roxx Regime.
En 1983 cambiaron su nombre por el de Stryper. La banda estuvo activa desde 1983 hasta 1992.
En el año 2003 se reunieron hasta hoy en dia.
Ellos tocan Heavy Metal/Hard Rock,y son considerados como la primera banda y la más famosa del llamado "Metal Cristiano",debido a la temática de sus letras.
Su mayor éxito lo lograron en los '80. Con su primer álbum de estudio "Soldiers Under Command" de 1985,lograron disco de oro (más de 500.000 copias vendidas). En 1986 alcanzaron disco de platino (más de 2 millones de copias) con "To Hell With The Devil". En 1988 con "In God We Trust" y en 1990 con "Against The Law" también obtuvieron disco de oro. Han vendido más de 10 millones de copias en toda su carrera.
Han realizado nueve discos de estudio,dos EPs,cuatro discos en directo y cuatro recopilaciones.
Actualmente están fichados por el sello Frontiers Records.

Michael y Robert son hermanos.

They play Heavy Metal/Hard Rock,and are considered as the first and most famous band of the denominated "Christian Metal",due to the thematic of their lyrics.
Their biggest success were obtained in the '80s. With their first studio album "Soldiers Under Command" of 1985,they obtained gold album (more than 500.000 copies sold). In 1986 they obtained platinum album (more than 2 million copies sold) with "To Hell With The Devil". In 1988 with "In God We Trust" and in 1990 with "Against The Law" they obtained gold albums. They have sold over 10 million albums throughout their career.
They have released nine studio albums,two EP's,four live albums and four compilations.
