BATHORY

Hablar de Bathory,és hablar del músico Sueco Tomas Bjöge Forsberg 'Quorthon' (Hägersten-17 Feb,1966 - Estocolmo-3 Jun,2004). Él fue quién comenzó la escena extrema del Metal,al fusionar la velocidad del Punk,con la rabia del Heavy,y llevarlo un punto más allá.
'Quorthon' formó Bathory en 1983,cuando tenia 17 años. La banda ha sido considerada junto con los Ingleses Venom,como la pionera del Black Metal. Más tarde también fue el creador del llamado Viking Metal,sobretodo por la tématica de sus letras,en su mayoria sobre la mitología Nórdica.
Su apodo viene de un demonio de dicha mitología.
El nombre del grupo proviene de la condesa Hungara Erzsébet Báthory (1560-1614),la cuál se cree que es la mujer que más asesinatos ha cometido en la historia,con 630 muertes. Cuenta el mito que se bañaba en la sangre de sus jovenes víctimas para recuperar la juventud.
 Su primera realización oficial fue en 1984,cuando incluyeron dos temas en el recopilatorio "Scandinavian Metal Attack".
El estilo de la banda fue variando en numerosas ocasiones.
Muchos músicos grabaron con Bathory,pero se sabe que 'Quorthon' era multiinstrumentista y realizó gran parte de las grabaciones el solo.
Realizaron doce albums de estudio hasta la prematura muerte de 'Quorthon' en 2004 a los 38 años de edad,debido a un ataque al corazón. D.E.P.

 Talking of Bathory,is talking about the Swedish musician Tomas Bjöge Forsberg 'Quorthon' (Hägersten,Feb 17th,1966 - Stockholm,Jun 3rd,2004). He was who began the extreme Metal scene,fro merge the speed of Punk and the rage of the Heavy,and take it a point beyond.
'Quorthon' formed Bathory in 1983,when he was 17 years old. The band has been considered along with the English band Venom,as the pioneer of Black Metal. Later also was the creator of the so-called Viking Metal,above all by the theme of their lyrics,mostly about Nordic mythology.
His nickname comes from a demon of such mythology.

The first band official release was in 1984,when two of their songs were included in the compilation "Swedish Metal Attack".
Tha band's style was changing many times.
Many musicians recorded with Bathory,but it is known he was a multi-instrumentalist and he did much of the recordings only.
They released twelve studio albums until the untimely death of  'Quorthon' in 2004 at age of 38,due to a heart attack. R.I.P.
